The public is invited to Soul 2 Soul on Saturday,
August 28, 11am-3pm at 1380 NE Multnomah (Lloyd Center Regal Cinemas Parking Lot). The event is free to the public.
COVID-19, racial injustice, the rise of gun violence and the effects of gentrification in the City of Portland has had an adverse impact on the health
of the black community. Soul 2 Soul is a celebration of black resilience while repairing the bridges within the African and African American community.
ABOUT US
Soul 2 Soul is a culturally specific, community led event in partnership with the Coalition of African & African American Pastors and the Office of the Governor. Soul 2 Soul is a drive-thru experience with live entertainment, health resources, raffles, giveaways, and cash incentives. Oregon Health Authority, Health Systems and community organizations will be on site to provide valuable resources, COVID-19 testing, and vaccine access.
Oregon is ranked 6th in the nation as a state to contract COVID-19 and vaccination rate for black Oregonians is less than 50% and blacks are the leading population being hospitalized due to COVID-19. Soul 2 Soul is a clarion call to reach those in the African and African American community who are unvaccinated.
